Cornerstone Christian Academy

Library

Cornerstone’s library offers academic support and books for pleasure reading to every student from elementary to middle school in order to develop a foundation for lifelong learning. Weekly library programs are designed to introduce students to different authors, genres, awards, subject areas, and research strategies.

The library was started in 2003 with generous donations from community and church members. In 2007, certified librarian, Missy Edgmon, joined the staff and began developing the collection to specifically suit the needs of the school. The library now houses approximately 6,000 print and non-print materials and is growing every year.

As the program grows, we have an eye on mobile learning. The online catalog can be accessed from any internet-enabled device. The library also provides access to electronic databases that can be used in the classroom or at home.

If you are interested in making a donation to the Cornerstone Library, you may do so in a number of ways:
1. Donate gently used books appropriate for preschoolers through 8th grade from your own collection
2. Become part of the Birthday Book Club. A $20 donation in your child’s name will purchase a new book for the library. Your child will have his/her name noted in the book, and he/she will get to be the first to check out that book. Mrs. Edgmon will send you information about this project the month of or the month prior to your child’s birthday
3. Make a cash donation in any amount to Cornerstone, notating “Library Donation” on the memo line.

"Cornerstone Christian Academy is a great private school where the emphasis on Christianity and small class size go hand-in-hand. Both my girls look forward to going to school."
