Great Things Happening at CCA

Dear CCA Families,

As we get ready for Spring Break, we want to share with you some positive facts and impressive statistics amid this unprecedented time in education and our country:

  • Our re-enrollment percentage is up compared to last year, and we are anticipating adding additional classrooms in the fall as COVID-19 restrictions improve. The PK4 to Kindergarten re-enrollment is the highest in CCA history. Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we embark on the 2021-2022 school year. Cornerstone Christian Academy students do make a difference in the community.

  • 98% of our student body is currently participating in face-to-face education during this pandemic; CCA was one of the first schools in the Houston area to reopen with live instruction. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and healthy.

  • The Junior Cougar Track program is at capacity with a waitlist; meanwhile, most schools are not running any outdoor elementary athletic programs for students. We also have more than 34 middle school students participating in spring athletics.

Recent MAP (academic assessment) data has our children above the national norms in every tested area in every grade level at CCA. Highlighted achievements in certain areas were as follows:

  • Math - Kinder, 1st, and 3rd grades
  • Reading - Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades
  • Language - 2nd, 5th, and 7th grades
  • Science - 4th grade and middle school

These are fantastic achievements thus far, and we typically see the largest gains in the final assessments towards the end of the school year. We will celebrate this with our children as we also continue to focus on any deficient areas in student assessments.

Survey results from last fall and information on our upcoming Board of Trustees Retreat will be released after Spring Break. Your feedback on these surveys was essential. We are excited about the results and anticipate significant changes and improvements stemming directly from your input. As always, our goal is a “student first” focus. We will be starting a “CCA Breakfast Club” event that will be available to all CCA families where you will have the opportunity to meet with the Head of School and CCA Board President. You will be seeing more information coming out soon regarding this event.

Lastly, community feedback tells us that one of our greatest strengths is that CCA feels like family. Together we are strong, faithful, and connected. We realize and recognize that because of COVID-19, the goal of gathering together has had setbacks, which impacts our students, staff, and parents. With the recent move to Level II, we feel that we can offer you the opportunity to come back together with your children at CCA safely. We are blessed to be able to provide some times where you will be able to join your children in chapel praising the Lord. The chapel experience is just one of the ways CCA is such a special place.  Click HERE for Visiting Chapel times and procedures. With this same community theme in mind, we want to remind you of upcoming CCA events that will be taking place outside.
