Kindergarten - Pre-First Grade

At CCA, we believe that a love of learning and a heart for God forms at the earliest age. Our Primary School program for Kindergarten through Pre-First Grade is designed to capitalize on these formative years, and the natural curiosity and enthusiasm our youngest learners bring to exploring their environment.

Kindergarten and Pre-First are the culmination of our Primary School program, allowing our youngest Cougars to be the leaders of their division—gaining confidence and a sense of responsibility as they prepare to enter the 1st-4th grade Lower School. Students focus on core subjects with an emphasis on reading, writing, and an ever-growing faith in God.

We realize that the first years of a child’s academic life are crucial in establishing a positive mindset toward learning. With small class sizes and dynamic hands-on learning, students strengthen and develop essential reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills in a supportive and highly interactive setting. Students explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through our Rice University STEMscopes curriculum, begin social studies, and integrate technology aids to support the concepts taught in the classroom. Kindergarten, students attend weekly outclasses that include art, music, theater arts, SEEK, physical education, library, and Spanish.
